We are pleased to announce that OpenVox has introduced a new Elastix Appliance called the IX132. The IX132 replaces the feature-rich / affordable IX130 product line with an even more reliable and scalable IP PBX platform for small and medium sized businesses.

The IX132, much like its predecessor the IX130, is a purpose built VoIP phone system based on open source asterisk software. It can be ordered with any of the major Asterisk distributions pre-installed (Elastix®, trixbox®, PBX in a FlashTM, FreePBX). However the IX132 raises the bar of reliability and scalability by increasing processing power and adding hardware RAID options.

The OpenVox IX132 IP PBX is a standard 19” 1U appliance with modular design for easy expandability through a variety of hardware options including Analog, BRI, PRI, GSM and transcoding interfaces (and yes, OpenVox offers Hardware based Echo Cancellation now). The IX132 supports comprehensive protocol processing including SIP, H.323, BRI, PRI, SS7, GSM and others.

With optional hardware RAID 1 support, it  provides better data backup for your system. It also sports an optional HDD case which can be used for hot pluggable storage. With RAID 1 installed, an administrator can see status of the storage devices from a GUI and simply replace a backup hard drive when needed without opening the appliance.

This phone system is a complete IP PBX solution designed and priced affordably to enable SMB customers to easily setup their customized phone system. Since the IX132 is an Asterisk IP PBX, it can easily connect with standards based VoIP providers including RingOffice.
