Elastix has grown to become an extremely popular open source IP PBX solution for those looking for a user friendly and mature package based on Asterisk. However, to build a complete phone system solution with open source Asterisk or Elastix, one needs a reliable platform designed for telephony applications. The Openvox IX130B appliance is one such platform that gives users a ready to configure, affordable Elastix phone system appliance with a wide selection of interface options and expandability.

IX130 is the 3rd generation asterisk-based appliance designed by OpenVox. It comes with OpenVox’s creative modular design that provides two plug-in modules to enable a variety of telephony interface connectivity options on this phone system appliance. Built on an OpenVox IPC110 embedded motherboard, the IX130 provides a cost-effective and stable VoIP Phone System solution for small and medium sized businesses at an attractive price point.

The IX130 is a standard 19” 1U appliance that allows users to integrate up to two OpenVox PCI-E telephony interface cards, with any combinations of analog, BRI, PRI, GSM or transcoding interfaces. The optional HDD case provides the possibility for hot plug function to the storage device. Thus users can simply replace a backup HDD whenever needed without opening the appliance. What’s more, the IX130 provides two flexible power supply options: internal and external and it’s up to you to select what you prefer to power the IX130.

IX130 Elastix Appliance

The modular design of IX130 is unique in the IP PBX market as it provides users with the flexibility and scalability to order the interefaces required with the phone system or to install the telephony interface modules required later as needed. Another major benefit of the modular design of this Elastix Appliance is the ability for OpenVox to make it so cost effective.

The Openvox IX130B Phone System Appliance supports comprehensive protocol processing, including SIP, H.323 protocols on the IP side and BRI, PRI, SS7, GSM and some protocol transcoding in CPE. The Openvox IX130 Appliance can be preloaded with Elastix ®, PBX in a Flash (TM) or trixbox ® IP PBX software. Openvox telephony intereface cards will also be pre-installed in the appliance so you can rest assured that all the hardware is made by the same manufacturer and designed to work together. No need to worry about installing software and interface cards or having to deal with integration of the interfaces. The IX130B gives you a ready-to-use VoIP PBX running your preferred open source phone system.
